Make Your Own Sea Glass

Spread the love

Do you love sea glass? Then you’re in luck because you can now make your own from any jar or glass container you want. You’re no longer limited by what sea glass you can find, now you can use what you have or keep an eye out at garage sales and thrift stores for pieces you want to transform.

There is more than one way to do this but this tutorial uses Martha Stewart paints to transform the glass so what you end up with is permanent. The paints are not food grade so don’t use this sea glass for food storage. Instead, they’re totally for decorative use unless you only paint the outside or any part that will not touch your food or drink.

You can adjust your paint to achieve darker or lighter, more translucent, and even the shade of green. The Martha Stewart Glass Paints are permanent (bake or air-dry), safe to wash in the top rack of the dishwasher, indoor/outdoor and weather resistant, non-toxic, and can be used on glass, mirror, ceramic, and plastic.
