DIY- 5 Ways to Update Your Countertops
Kitchen countertops are one of the first things you see when you walk into a kitchen and when they’re old or outdated, it hurts. New countertops can breathe new life into the whole kitchen, especially if chosen well. The biggest obstacle for most homeowners is that they can really take a bite out of your budget. Good-looking countertops are costly.
Fortunately, there are other ways to update your kitchen countertops and here are five different DIY ways to consider.
1. Concrete Countertops
There are a couple of ways to add a concrete countertop to your kitchen, or bath. If you pay someone to install it will typically cost more than installing granite. So you can opt to do it yourself and it’s not that hard.
One method is to pour a thin layer of concrete over your existing countertop, and the other is to rip out what you currently have, measure and build a frame, and then pour a new slab.
