A Beautiful Lighted Painting DIY

Here is another DIY project that I am really excited about.  Make your own painting that is simple in design but the string of lights gives the painting it’s character.  I will put a little color in my dandelion or maybe some paint with glitter.  This will look great in any room in your home.  Thanks to Mabee Creative for the lovely idea.

It was a fairly simple project. In case you’re looking to make one yourself here are the steps I took:

1. Get a canvas (preferably one with a thick frame – meaning the edges of the canvas are at least 1.5-2 inches thick), paint & brushes, a pencil, a small nail, and of course, lights.

2. Once you know how many lights there are in your strand, draw out a pattern on the back of your canvas. I just drew a bunch of X’s where I wanted the lights to go.

3. Use the nail to punch holes through the canvas.
